Japan Stocks Tumbled as Asia Stocks Mostly Down

On Monday, August 16, Japan stocks tumbled as the Nikkei 225 led the losses by 1.90% and most of the Asia Pacific stock markets were also down.

In the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Nikkei 225 crashed 1.90% with a net decline of $531.19. This sent the stock to the bottom at $27,445.96 per share.

Its worst performers were Nippon Express Co Ltd which dropped 13.06% or 1,110.00 points to $7,390.00 per share.

Takara Holdings followed as it fell 5.30% or 75.00 points to $1,341.00 per share. Then, Nisshinbo Holdings Inc slipped 4.76% or 47.00 points to $941.00 per share.

Meanwhile, the benchmark’s best performers include Citizen Watch Co Ltd which gained 8.68% or 36.00 points to $4.35 per share.

Then, FUJIFILM Holdings Corp climbed 7.80% or 622.00 points to $81.89 per share. Also, Ebara Corp jumped 3.96% or 220.00 or $0.53 per share.

Moreover, Japan’s broader TOPIX index decreased 1.73% with a net loss of $33.89. This sent the stocks below at $1,922.50 per share.

The same with China’s Shenzhen Component Index which sank 0.30% with a net decline of $43.85. This sent the stocks down at $14,755.18 per share.

While the Shanghai Composite Index increased 0.37% with a net addition of $12.84. This sent the stocks up at $3,529.14 per share.

Its best performers include Qingdao Gaoce Technology Co Ltd A which smashed 13.59% or 5.74 points to $7.41 per share.

Then, Shanghai Friendess Electronic Technology Co Ltd A spiked 12.52% or 57.77 points to $80.15 per share.

Asia Stocks Down as Japan Fell

Furthermore, the KOSPI of South Korea fluctuated 1.16% with a net loss of $37.09. This sent the stocks below at $3,171.29 per share.

In Australia, the S&P/ASX 200 dropped 0.41% with a net fall of $31.20. This sent the stocks down at $7,597.70 per share.

Its worst performer was Bendigo & Adelaide Bank Ltd which slipped 9.50% or 1.06 points to $7.38 per share.

Additionally, the Hang Seng Index of Hong Kong crashed 0.78% with a net decline of $206.03. This sent the stocks to the bottom at $26,185.59 per share.

BYD Co Ltd led its losses as it tumbled 6.66% or 18.20 points to $32.79 per share.
