The history of Yahoo Answers is slowly coming to an end. It is one of the oldest as well as most storied web Q&A platforms in the history of the internet. Yahoo decided to close its platform on May 4th. On that day its website will start redirecting to the Yahoo homepage. Moreover, all of the platform’s archives will apparently cease to exist. The history of this platform dates back to 2005.

Yahoo made an important announcement. The company announced the change at the top of its platform’s homepage. Interestingly, the message links to an FAQ, which details the timeline of the shutdown. In less than a month, more precisely starting from April 20th, the platform will no longer accept new submissions according to the information provided by the company.

Hopefully, users will have until June 30th to request their data or it will be inaccessible after that. That includes all user-generated content including the user’s Questions list, Questions, etc. However, they won’t be able to download other users’ content, and questions, or answers.
