Wall Street Mixed as NASDAQ Up while Dow and S&P 500 Down

On Tuesday, August 3, Wall Street was mixed as the NASDAQ climbed from yesterday’s fall while the Dow and the S&P 500 remained at the bottom.

The NASDAQ Composite Index progressed 0.06% with a net gain of $8.39. This sent the stocks higher at $14,681 per share.

Its best performers include Ever-Glory International Group Inc which spiked 124.78% or 2.82 points to $5.08 per share.

This was followed by Dolphin Entertainment Inc which jumped 55.87% or 4.38 points to $12.22 per share.

Infinity Pharmaceuticals also added to its gains by 38.21% or 0.81 points to $2.93 per share.

On the other hand, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.28% with a net loss of $97.31. This sent the stock below at $34,838 per share.

Visa Inc led its losses by 2.68% or 6.61 points to $239.78 per share. It was followed by Dow Inc which crashed 1.51% or 0.94 points to $61.22 per share.

Additionally, McDonald’s Corp pulled the benchmark down by losing 1.08% or 2.61 points to $240.10 per share.

Moreover, the S&P 500 Index plummeted 0.18% with a net decrease of $8.10. This sent the stocks to the bottom at $4,387 per share.

Its worst performers include Global Payments Inc which plunged 11.18% or 21.62 points to $171.79 per share.

This was followed by Fidelity National Information Services Inc 6.66% or 9.93 points to $139.12 per share. Also, Fiserv Inc lost 4.66% or 5.36 points to $109.75 per share.

Global Stocks Mixed

Furthermore, global stocks were mixed as Europe climbed while the Asia Pacific was mostly down.

In the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the DAX and the MDAX Performance Index both improved 0.16% or 24.34 points to $15,569 and 0.68% or 237.33 points to $35,384, respectively.

In the London Stock Exchange, the FTSE 100 Index and the FTSE All Share Index both jumped 0.70% or 49.42 points to $7,082 and 0.77% or 30.88 points to $4,061, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the Asia Pacific, Japan’s Nikkei 225, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, and Australia’s ASX 200 all fell 0.74%, 0.53%, and 0.41%, respectively.

Also, the SSE Composite and SZSE Component Index of China both fluctuated 0.30% or 10.49 points to $3,453.79 and 0.35% or 51.65 points to $14,746.50, respectively.

The KOSPI of South Korea rebounded from its morning fall by rising 0.07% or 2.31 points to $3,225.34 per share.
