The United States President Donald Trump and the Letter

The United States President Donald Trump and the Letter

The Federal Government gave a stimulus check to Americans. Nevertheless, those Americans are getting something else in the mail too. It is a letter from the United States President Donald Trump.

The United States President Donald Trump gave a one-page letter. It started arriving over the weekend in the mailboxes of millions of Americans. Those Americans received a stimulus payment of up to $1,200. A new law was designed to help the economy recovery from the fallout of the pandemic of coronavirus.

Thus, the boldface heading of the letter says that ‘Your Economic Impact Payment Has Arrived.’

Moreover, written on White House stationery, the message opens with the salutation My Fellow American.

The letter says that their great country experienced an unprecedented economic and public health challenge as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, the message continues that their top priority is Americans’ safety and health. As there is a total war on that invisible enemy, they are also working around the clock to protect hardworking Americans from the consequences of the economic shutdown. They are fully committed to ensuring that Americans and their families have the support they need to get through that time.

In bold, one-inch-high characters, at the bottom of the page,  President Donald Trump signs off the letter.

Nina Olson is a former taxpayer advocate at the Internal Revenue Service. She said that the letter is unbelievable. She noted that it makes the agency look like its’ the handmaiden of one party or one administration.

The stimulus payments are part of a $2.2 trillion economic recovery package. Congress approved the package, and Trump signed it into law on March 27. Last week, the Treasury Department said that nearly 90 million people had already received payments that totaled almost $160 billion.

The economic recovery law requires that written notices must be sent via mail to the last known address of any taxpayer who received one of the checks of the stimulus. Moreover, the law is saying that the letter must be sent no later than 15 days after the money was distributed. Also, it must include the method of payment. Also, it must consist of the amount of the debt and IRS phone number. It is for reporting any failure to receive such a refund.

The law is not dedicating who need to send the letter. On Friday, the Treasury Department referred a reporter to Trump’s remarks at a news conference, when asked who decided that the message would come from Trump.

The United States President Donald Trump said that the letter is to fulfill the requirements of the law. Moreover, he answered that it was to let each American know that they can get through this challenge together as one American family.

Let’s see what will happen in the future.
