Texas Instruments and its New Product

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) is an American company based in Dallas. The company stated above introduced a highly integrated Grade 0 brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver for 48-V high-power motor control systems.

Interestingly, it is intended for traction inverters and starter generators in mild hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). This product aims to help designers shrink the size of their motor system by as much as 30%. However, it will provide the highest gate-drive current for increased protection and output power.

It is worth mentioning that the product mentioned above meets the most stringent safety requirements. To help decrease greenhouse gas emissions worldwide, carmakers are increasing the production of PHEVs, which use 48-V motor-drive systems. This way, it is possible to reduce the emissions from a vehicle’s internal combustion engine.

Texas Instruments and new opportunities

As mentioned earlier, Texas Instruments presented a highly integrated Grade 0 brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver for 48-V high-power motor control systems.

Interestingly a 48-V system is a step-change that original equipment manufacturers [OEMs] can implement to reduce emissions. Simultaneously, adding power for advanced driver-assistance system features and managing power-hungry loads—for example, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system.

The situation regarding climate change is quite complicated. It is not surprising that governmental and private organizations are working hard to deal with this issue, and Texas Instruments is not an exception.

Moreover, companies are willing to spend billions of dollars on becoming more eco-friendly in the future. As a reminder, without such measures, it will be more difficult to cope with various challenges. American companies have the potential to play a more active role in this process. Thanks to new technologies, companies will solve or at least mitigate the impact of their products on the environment.
