Russia at the Mobile World Congress Amidst Ukraine War

Russia got ice at the Mobile World Congress, the world’s largest trade show for mobile technologies. GSMA, the industry body that runs the MWC, stated Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It is worth noting that the Russian pavilion, a stand where countries will exhibit their local technology scene, won’t participate at the event. According to the director, the GSMA strongly condemns Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In fact, the organization said the situation is developing rapidly. Accordingly, the event’s security is constantly monitored and regulated as soon as information emerges. The CEO of Vodafone also expressed support for the victims of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

In addition, in the wake of the Ukraine war, a similar conference shows the importance of global sectors and communities. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine began on Thursday and was instantly condemned by government leaders worldwide. The United States and its allies imposed sanctions on Russia’s banking system, including President Vladimir Putin. Analysts estimate that the GSMA should respond and take decisive action.

On Monday, China Mobile, Telecom, and Unicom were notably silent on Ukraine. China’s Foreign Ministry last week refused to call an invasion of Ukraine a Russian attack instead of blaming the United States. European TV executives spoke much louder on the issue.
