MSCI World Index Crashed as EU and Asia Stocks Down

On Friday, August 20, the MSCI World Index crashed as the major stock markets in Europe and the Asia Pacific were down. Meanwhile, US stocks were mostly up.

The MSCI World Index lost 0.48% with a net loss of $14.79 which sent the stocks below at $3,063.22 per share.

In the Paris Stock Exchange, the benchmark CAC 40 pulled the MSCI World Index down. It fluctuated 2.43% with a net decline of $164.22 which sent the stocks down at $6,606 per share.

In the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the DAX Index led the losses as it fell 1.25% with a net fall of $200.16. This sent the stocks to the ground at $15,766 per share.

In the London Stock Exchange, the FTSE 100 Index pushed the MSCI World Index below. It subsided 1.54% or 110.46 points to $7,059 per share. 

Moreover, in the Asia Pacific, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index greatly contributed to the MSCI World Index’s fall. 

It shrank 1.86% with a net change of $471.92 which sent the stocks to the bottom at $24,844 per share.

Also, in the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Nikkei 225 Index plunged 0.98% with a net decrease of $267.92. This sent the stocks to the ground at $27,013 per share.

Then, China’s Shanghai Composite Index collapsed 1.50% with a net fall of $51.99. This sent the stocks to the bottom at $3,413.56 per share.

Consequently, Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index slid 0.03% with a net slip of $2.30. This sent the stocks down at $7,462.30 per share.

US Stocks Mixed as MSCI World Index Fell

Furthermore, the Dow Jones Industrial Average crashed 0.19% or 66.57 points to $34,894 per share.

While the Dow Jones Utility Average Index climbed 0.40% or 3.79 points to $940.96 per share.

The benchmark S&P 500 led the region’s gains by 0.13% with a net increase of $5.53 to $4,406 per share.

Likewise, the NASDAQ Composite Index jumped 0.11% with a net addition of $15.87. This sent the stocks higher at $14,542 per share.

On the other hand, the Russell 2000 Index subsided 1.22% or 26.36 points to $2,132 per share.

Additionally, the Global Dow Realtime USD dropped 0.25% or 9.95 points to $3,95 per share.
