Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella talked about the next generation of Windows at an annual conference called Microsoft Build. It is an annual conference organized by the tech giant, aimed at software engineers as well as web developers who use Windows, Microsoft Azure, etc. Numerous reports indicated a major design update codenamed “Sun Valley” being in the pipeline for Window 10 version 21H1 later this year. The company’s CEO confirmed several days ago that the company will share details regarding the new generation of Windows in the near future.
Satya Nadella also emphasized that Windows 10 is now running on 1.3 billion devices. It remains the most versatile platform for developers. But its newest version should offer even more opportunities for developers to distribute and monetize their apps.

The world’s one of the most famous companies could stop requiring developers to package their Win32 apps as an MSIX. It could let them use their own Content Delivery Network (CDN) to push app updates. The company could also allow developers to use their own payment system for the Microsoft Store apps and bypass its cut on in-app purchases that go through the company’s payment services.
Microsoft announced that the Windows 10 Timeline feature will drop support for history sync for personal Microsoft accounts in July. Starting in July 2021, customers will no longer have the opportunity to upload new activity in Timeline. They will still be able to use Timeline and see their activity history on the local device. However, AAD-connected devices won’t be impacted. In April, the company announced that Timeline would lose its syncing capabilities for personal Microsoft accounts.
Windows Timeline was one of the major new features that came with the Windows 10 April 2018 update. Nonetheless, it probably never reached its full potential. The company added Timeline support to the Microsoft Launcher on Android. But the Android Launcher dropped the integration in 2020.
