Japanese Stocks Edges Higher as Topix and Nikkei 225 Both Up

On Monday, August 23, Japanese stocks edged higher as the Topix and the Nikkei 225 index both climbed 1.99% and 1.92%, respectively, leading Asia stocks up.

The broad Topix index led the Japanese gains by 1.99% with a net increase of $37.50. This sent the stocks above at $1,918.18 per share.

Also, the Nikkei 225 index pushed the Japanese stocks up as it smashed 1.92% with a net addition of $519.38. This sent the stocks higher at $27,532.63 per share.

Its best performers were Denso Corp which spiked 7.32% or 492.00 points to $65.62 per share.

Then, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd. jumped 5.88% or 380.00 points to $62.22 per share.

Additionally, Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd. progressed 5.76% or 260.00 points to $43.39 per share.

Meanwhile, Sumitomo Osaka Cement Co. Ltd. plummeted 1.04% or 31.00 points to $26.80 per share.

Isuzu Motors Ltd. followed as it plunged 0.91% or 12.00 points to $11.94 per share.

Then, Taisei Corp. decreased 0.84% or 30.00 points to $32.16 per share.

Furthermore, China, which is Asia’s largest economy, followed behind Japanese progress.

The same with the Shanghai Composite Index which grew 1.15% with a net addition of $39.48. This sent the stocks higher at $3,466.81 per share.

Its top performer was Zhejiang Damon Technology Co. Ltd. A which grew 20.00% or 5.75 points to $5.31 per share.

Asia Stocks Up as Japanese Shares Climbed

Moreover, Asia stock markets were up as the Japanese stocks climbed.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index soared 1.64% or 408.28 points to $25,258.00 per share.

Likewise, South Korea’s KOSPI Composite Index boosted 1.59% or 48.79 points to $3,109.30 per share.

Consequently, the S&P/ASX 200 Index of Australia improved 0.31% or 23.1 points to $7,484.00 per share.

In the Bombay Stock Exchange, the S&P BSE Sensex Index hopped 0.08% or 45.97 points to $55,375.29 per share.

Additionally, the MSCI All Countries Asia Pacific Index was flat at $190.97. The same with the MSCI All Countries Asia ex-Japanese Index which was also flat at $782.70 per share.
