India’s Nifty 50 up 1.27%; Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 up 0.49%

India stocks were higher after the close on Friday’s stock trade. The Metals, Consumer Durables and Fast Moving Consumer Goods sectors’ gains have led shares higher.

The Nifty 50 rose 1.27%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index added 1.17% at the close in India’s National Stock Exchange.

The session’s outperformers on the Nifty 50 were Tata Steel Ltd. They edged up 5.82% or 42.10 points to trade at 765.25 at the close. 

Moreover, Bajaj Finserv Ltd gained 4.44% or 402.45 points to end at 9460.00 and Asian Paints Ltd. advanced 3.99% or 95.80 points to 2498.00 in late trade.

The session’s worst performers were UPL Ltd. They fell 1.39% or 8.30 points to trade at 587.35 at the close. 

Moreover, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd declined 1.25% or 2.70 points to end at 213.70. Also down was Eicher Motors Ltd. by 0.72% or 18.55 points to 2561.90.

On the BSE Sensex 30, the top performers were Bajaj Finserv Ltd, soaring 4.49% to 9466.65. Asian Paints Ltd. rose 4.28% to settle at 2504.55 and Titan Company Ltd added 4.06% to close at 1509.45.

The session’s worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd as they were down 0.97% to 214.60 in late trade. IndusInd Bank Ltd lost 0.58% to settle at 952.70. Also down was ITC Ltd by 0.17% to 210.90 at the close.

On the India NSE, the number of rising stocks exceeded that of the falling ones. That was by 1020 to 651, and 56 ended flat.

Meanwhile, on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1583 rose and 1263 dropped, while 168 ended flat.

The India VIX fell 9.02% to 20.6500.

Australia Stocks Higher at Close of Trade

Australian stocks were higher after the close on Friday’s stock trade. The Telecoms Services, Materials, and Metals & Mining sectors’ gains led shares higher.

The S&P/ASX 200 added 0.49% at the close in Sydney. 

On the Sydney Stock Exchange, the number of rising stocks exceeded that of the declining ones. That was by 773 to 535, and 353 ended flat.

TPG Telecom Ltd shares plunged to 52-week lows, losing 6.70% or 0.460 to 6.410. On the other hand, Reece Ltd shares rose to 3-year highs, rising 4.53% or 0.77 to 17.75.

The S&P/ASX 200 VIX added 9.78% to 12.521.
