HALF-MAST
A steep and quick price movement – a pole – is always present before the continuing patterns of flags; This is the moment when pennants are established. A breakout happens out of the pattern in the same direction as the pole after a market halt that takes the form of a flag or a pennant. Half-mast is the result of the measuring implication being equal to the length of the pole.
