EasyMarkets Secures Real Madrid CF Sponsorship

The worlds of football and trading seem to have become a bit intertwined recently, with many prominent teams taking sponsorships from online brokers. easyMarkets appears content to continue that trend, becoming partners with Real Madrid CF. Interestingly, the broker was the main shirt sponsor of another Spanish team, Real Betis, until the end of last season. easyMarkets has changed teams quite quickly, as their Real Madrid sponsorship will be active starting the 2020-21 season.

The exact details of the deal between the team and broker remain unknown. However, Ohad Golan, easyMarkets’ Chief Officer of Marketing, was asked about the move. He complimented the club on its colorful history, as well as its immense and loyal fanbase. The broker was looking for a high-end partner, and Real Madrid fits the bill perfectly, attracting millions with each match.

easyMarkets and Real Madrid on the same playing field

Emilio Butragueño shares a similar sentiment, stating that both the team and broker are leaders in their respective fields. He added that he’s happy to work with easyMarkets as their trading partner for the following season. Mr. Butragueño is Real Madrid’s director of institutional relations.

easyMarkets actually cut their sponsorship with Real Betis short, as it lasted about a year instead of three. There’s no confirmation that the premature ending was due to them “upgrading” teams, but common sense would say so. The smaller club managed to sign an agreement with another broker, Betway, which is now on the players’ shirts.

Real Madrid is one of the most recognizable names in football; not only in its home country of Spain but also on a global scale. Once one combines the domestic and international achievements, the team accounts for 40 significant awards. Such sponsorships are quite useful for brokers, as they go beyond the apparent marketing purpose. They also boost the security and reputation ratings, as there’s little chance household names would associate themselves with scams.
