Esporte Clube Bahia, a Brazilian football club, has announced a partnership with Axi, a forex and CFD broker. While the financial terms of the deal and its scope have not been disclosed, it has been revealed that Axi has gained the status of an Official Online Trading Partner of the football club.
Guilherme Bellintani, the President at Bahia, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that Axi’s expertise in forex and CFD brokerage, coupled with its reputation for innovation, dependability, credibility, and integrity, make it an excellent partner for the club. The partnership is expected to take both the club and Axi to the next level, though specifics on what this will entail have not been released.
Football is immensely popular in Brazil, and the country has produced many top football players. Bahia, founded in 1991 in the state capital of Bahia, is a top domestic league club with a significant social media presence. Its home stadium, Arena Fonte Nova, has a capacity of around 48,000, and the club has 1 million followers on Instagram and 1.1 million followers on Facebook.
The partnership with Axi is expected to bring significant benefits to both parties, though the exact nature of these benefits remains unclear. However, the deal is a sign of the growing trend of collaborations between sports clubs and businesses in the financial sector. Such partnerships provide companies with access to new audiences while helping sports clubs to generate additional revenue streams.
The partnership between Bahia and Axi was announced shortly after Bahia joined the City Football Group, which owns 13 football clubs, including Manchester City. City Football Group now holds a 90% stake in Bahia. Axi already had a sponsorship deal with Manchester City, which began in September 2020 when the broker underwent a branding overhaul. The partnership was recently expanded to include Axi’s sponsorship rights for the Manchester City women’s team. Louis Cooper, Axi’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed enthusiasm for the new partnership, saying that it is a great addition to their sponsorship portfolio and complements their global relationship with Manchester City. This new partnership allows Axi to focus on a region that has been important to them for some time and continues to grow. This collaboration between Bahia and Axi is indicative of the trend of partnerships between sports clubs and financial businesses, providing new audiences and revenue streams for both parties.
