Asia Pacific Stocks Tumbled as Hong Kong Led Losses by 1.39%

On Tuesday, August 17, Asia Pacific stocks tumbled as Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index led the losses by 1.39%. Then, China’s Shanghai Composite followed by decreasing 1.31%.

The MSCI All Countries Asia Pacific Index crashed 0.81% with a net loss of $1.62. This sent the stocks to the bottom at $198.24 per share.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index pulled the Asia Pacific stocks down. It fluctuated 1.39% with a net decline of $364.71 which sent the stocks below at $25,816.75 per share.

Its worst performers were Wuxi Biologics (Cayman) Inc which fell 8.02% or 9.70 points to $14.30 per share.

Then, Anta Sports Products Ltd dropped 4.30% or 7.30 points to $20.86 per share. Also, Alibaba Group Holding Ltd flopped 4.10% or 7.40 points to $22.22 per share.

In the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Nikkei 225 plummeted 0.10% with a net change of $27.96. This sent the stocks down to $27,495.23 per share.

Tokai Carbon Co. led its losses as it plunged 4.83% or 78.00 points to $0.14 per share. Then, Toho Zinc Co. Ltd followed as it lost 4.20% or 88.00 points to $18.35 per share.

Also, JFE Holdings Inc slipped 3.2% or 54.00 points to $1,622.00 per share.

Moreover, the broader TOPIX Index decreased 0.22% with a net fall of $4.31. This sent the stocks below at $1,920.67 per share.

The same with Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 which impaired 0.86% with a net change of $65.50 to $7,517.00 per share.

China Stocks Down as Asia Pacific Shares Fell

Furthermore, China’s Shanghai Composite Index greatly contributed to the losses of the Asia Pacific stocks.

The benchmark crashed 1.31% with a net decline of $46.06 which sent the stocks to the bottom at $3,471.28 per share.

Its worst performers include Longyan Zhuoyue New Energy Co Ltd which sank 20.00% or 13.15 points to $8.12 per share.

Earth-Panda Advanced Magnetic Material Co Ltd A collapsed 14.52% or 9.68 points to $8.79 per share.

Then, Changzhou Tenglong Auto Parts Co Ltd A was down 10.02% or 1.75 points to $2.42 per share.

In addition, the Shenzhen Component Index sagged 1.25% with a net loss of $182.96. This sent the stocks to the bottom at $14,510.77 per share.
