Apple Decided to Build a New Regional Headquarters

On Friday, Apple made an important announcement. The tech giant will build a new regional headquarters at the border of Culver City and Los Angeles. Its latest announcement shows that the company wants to become a major Hollywood player.

Its new regional headquarters will include 550,000 square feet across two office buildings and will house teams working on Apple TV+, Apple Music, engineering as well as artificial intelligence.

Apple’s new headquarters is a sign that it will continue to invest in creating content for Apple TV+. Users can use the company’s streaming service for 4,99 per month. It launched its streaming service in 2019. The company’s decision to build a new regional headquarters also indicates that it will continue hiring and expanding in Hollywood.

Apple and its streaming service 

The company from California has yet to reveal subscriber numbers for Apple TV+. Its streaming service has far fewer hours of content than its rivals such as Netflix or Disney+. Still, Apple TV+ anecdotally gained some traction, with comedy “Ted Lasso ” winning several Emmys earlier this year. 

The tech giant already has 1,500 employees in the area. Beats Electronics which Apple bought in 2014 was based in Culver City. 

The new regional headquarters is on National Boulevard and Venice Boulevard close to public transportation. The company will also offer a shuttle service to its employees. 

While the company didn’t say whether the facility will have production studios, the location puts the company in close proximity to where a lot of TV shows as well as movies are made. Culver City is home to the headquarters of Columbia Pictures. It is also a center for film production. 

 Apple decided not to reveal the date when it plans to open its regional headquarters. Nevertheless, The company revealed one very interesting detail. It plans to have 3,000 employees in the region by 2026.
