Amazon Wrapped up One Medical Group Deal

Sources familiar with the matter have reported that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has opted not to contest amazon.com Inc’s purchase of 1Life Healthcare Inc, the parent company of One Medical. This decision has cleared the path for the deal to close.

Amazon.com Inc states it has finalized its acquisition of One Medical Group parent, 1Life Healthcare Inc. It sealed the $3.49 billion purchase after the US FTC didn’t challenge it.

This deal grants the online retail giant access to the world of primary-care doctors. This is the biggest leap into the healthcare industry for Amazon thus far. With a presence in 26 US markets, One Medical manages over 200 medical clinics. A subscription fee must be paid for customers to receive the company’s digital health services and have access to its medical practitioners.

Despite scrutinizing Amazon’s market stardom for years, the FTC has abstained from challenging the deal. Rather, it issued a warning statement concerning Amazon and One Medical Group. This gave Amazon the final push to finalize the purchase.

Additionally, Amazon Clinic is a service that directs patients to associate doctors for text-chat consultations to receive treatment for common, mild conditions like acne and hair loss.

Amir Dan Rubin will continue serving as One Medical’s CEO and will report to Lindsay. One Medical released a statement declaring that it would provide new clients with a reduced rate for One Medical membership for a limited period. These customers can subscribe to the package for $144 for the first year, lower than the regular fee of $199.
